Pros

health insurance seems to be excellent

Cons

The company invests heavily in portraying itself as an employer of choice where employees are empowered and fulfilled. The reality is quite different. Singtel is heavily skewed towards top management, with a large number of executives delegating work to fewer middle managers and staff below them. This imbalance contributes to widespread feelings of overwork and dissatisfaction among employees. There is a lack of alignment among top management regarding communication with employees, leading to confusion within the workforce. Despite significant penalty fines incurred by Singtel's overseas operations, employees were reassured about the company's financial health, with some leaders even emphasizing a healthy revenue compared to the previous year excluding these fines. In the end, these employees who worked their hardest throughout the past year to maintain a steady growth in this declining industry were rewarded with an extremely laughable increment and bonus payout. Ask around and most will say they feel deceived. This comes right after a 'pay rebalancing' exercise, the abolishment of work from home, and a shift of office to various locations. Those who were not so lucky ended up at the industrial estate area with facilities lacking proper ventilation and insufficient toilets. Not to mention the long waits for shuttle buses that are never on time. Young talents who graduated from the talent program struggled to secure permanent roles due to insufficient headcount and found themselves mismatched in their new positions. Many who believed in the organization's talent planning were left feeling disillusioned and abandoned. Moreover, the organization's decision to bring in a large new cohort of management associates while current talents were facing challenges further fueled discontent. This was exacerbated by a disappointing salary increment announcement that fell short compared to other programs in Singapore, leading to frustration and a loss of morale among associates. This company's actions have eroded employee benefits and trust. If you do not take care of your employees and keep to your promises, how can you rely on your people to deliver results? Just look around and you can see that the older talents are leaving and the young talents are looking to leave.
