Pros

Office locations are generally quite public transport friendly (i.e. SingPost Centre since Comcentre is under renovation, Serangoon hub has shuttle services from AMK mrt station, 8 George Street).

Cons

1. Dishonest advertising on job postings that there is hybrid working arrangement, when the preference is actually 5 days onsite in office. Also, the 1 day WFH is subject to manager's approval and may or may not be approved depending on line manager. My understanding of hybrid is that this shouldnt be made on request but given to all employees. In my department, it seems like the only people with babies and young kids are allowed WFH so its unfair to others. Why do I need to give a reason to work from home 1 day? 2. The contractual work hours per week is 42 hours for corporate staff, i.e. 8.30am to 6pm from Mondays to Thursdays and 8.30am to 5.3pm on Fridays. Please note if you are coming from a contractual 40 hours work week because the extra 2 hours work per week should be compensated. I was not aware of this (despite working in another GLC which has the normal 40 hours work week) and got a bigger than expected paycut due to the extra hours. HR was not upfront when I asked about this before signing the contract and she said they usually work 9-6 which gave the impression that its 40 hours work week. 3. Medical benefits do not cover dental. Flexi cash is only $680 per year. How is this enough for dental? 4. Too much time wasting on writing papers and doing slides.
