Pros

Raj Verma is a fantastic CEO thus far— smart, articulate, funny, personable, driven with a vision. And the VPs and other C-suite seem similarly capable of taking SingleStore to the next level. SingleStore is a great place to work remotely if you’re into WFH— the company has offices in SF, Sunnyvale, Portugal, India, but majority work remotely. There are semi-regular onsite optional meetings or events. The flexibility is a big selling point. I think compensation is very competitive, and the company is on a great trajectory, likely to IPO or maybe get acquired in the next year or two. Growing quickly which brings a lot of benefits for all of us.

Cons

There’s a ton of meetings, and emails, and Slack channels. When I first joined I made the mistake of assuming I needed to be at every meeting I was invited to, which meant I would booked or double-booked all day every day. Thankfully I learned more and more that I didn’t need to attend every meeting, so I got better at declining and prioritizing, unsubscribing, etc.

I had the opportunity to work with talented people across sales, engineering, and leadership who were always willing to help. The company offers strong learning opportunities, especially for those interested in technology and

Cons

Focus on creating a culture where employees feel respected, supported, and valued. Take employee feedback seriously and hold managers and team leads accountable for how they interact with their teams. When employees raise concerns or ask for support, ensure those issues are addressed with meaningful action rather than being overlooked. Better communication, transparency, and leadership accountability would help build trust, improve morale, and strengthen employee retention.
