Pros

Monthly summer BBQ lunch, pre-COVID. Christmas gifts.

Cons

Sinclair Technologies started out as family owned company that made quality antenna / filter products. But obviously as small to med sized companies go, they were eventually sold to a bigger company, then most recently to an even bigger Chinese company with an interesting background (just google "Hytera vs. Motorola", if you're inclined). Why is this important? Because a company's work culture and history affects its employees, and boy does it apply here. This is just a glimpse of what the company is like now: - Upper management is now 95% Chinese, which is not to say that this is inherently bad, but just be prepared sit in meetings in entirely Chinese or be completely excluded from important work conversations. - Company morale is in the negatives as the same management pushes everyone to do everything faster without any support, to the point where workers refuse to do overtime to avoid the stress. - Communication is poor, even ignoring the language barrier. Managers have told workers directly in person, you're here to work, not to think. (see above for poor morale) - Workload is heavy, especially compared to expectations. Employees are confused at what is priority, because when everything is a rush job, nothing really is. It also doesn't help that many competent workers have left, and processes are in a mess. - Hypocrisy is rampant. Workers try to point fingers at one another for problems to avoid blame. A core company value is quality, yet management will try to replace current vendors with cheaper ones, and then are surprised when it turns out that cheaper = poorer quality. - Speaking of management, there is none. For example, if team A is overloaded with work, one might try to add workers to team A by hiring new workers or cross-training team B's members, or even look at team A's processes to see if there is something that can be streamlined. Nope, management will have a speech to tell you to work harder because "how else can we afford the coffee in the lunch room" and not do anything else. I could go on, but I'd need a novel and a lawyer. My advice to future prospective workers is work here if and only if you need the money / experience, and once you do get what you need, look for another job immediately because your worth and the market rate will always be higher than what they will pay here.
