Don't Recommend It - Graphic Designer Sinclair Broadcast Group Employee Review

Pros

Opportunities to work on projects for some great Cincinnati brands - the Bengals, the Reds, etc. Lots of independence & ability to self-manage. Diverse group of employees from every kind of background.

Cons

Low salaries, minimal 2% raises/year & no upward mobility or reward for those who go above & beyond. Depending on department, bad hours. It's Journalism & hearing bad stories every day doesn't get easier with time or experience, so you have to be passionate about it. Parent company - Sinclair Broadcast - is a mess & it trickles down to local stations & managers. Interferes with content of news broadcasts at the local level. Possible layoffs always hanging overhead, always looking to automate jobs & hand duties over to a central hub, yet somehow people who have been with the company for a long time are never at risk, even when their performance is very, very lackluster.

Pros

Flexibility with my schedule to be able to take and pick up my kids from school. Great team to work with at my location. Ability to train and do jobs outside of my regular task to get hands on experience in other areas.

Cons

Department was restructured and my position was relocated.

Pros

Job can be fun depending on if you're a natural performer. You gather valuable experience interviewing others.

Cons

Terrible pay and culture. They will likely not pay you commission for anything you sell so do not take that on. Focus on your primary job.
