Pros

Able to proactively initiate change and contribute effective solutions due to confident and trusting direct supervisor.

Cons

Poor behavior by multiple coworkers above and below me. Hard and honest work dismissed by many in favor of provincial and immature interpersonal tactics of local and out of town workers who seemed threatened. Low paid retail staff given priority over the sincere and hardworking long hours and efforts of managers who truly cared.

Pros

The pros are irrelevant when the cons are are so bad.

Cons

Management says one thing and does another. They did away with incentive pay for glassblowers promising a fixed wage would pay more. This is only true if you work overtime. Upper management likes to boast about how much money the company is making, yet this doesn’t show in the paychecks of those doing the REAL hard work(glassblowers, potters, shipping, engraving, etc.). Managers will pit people against each other causing divisiveness and toxicity within departments. Employees are urged not to use the PTO they have earned. Safety standards and updated equipment needs are ignored. On paper Simon Pearce is an excellent company and that excellence lies in the everyday people working hard. These reviews are not “disgruntled employees” they are hardworking people who deserve to be heard and treated better.
