Pros

One pro is that you can always leave and get a better opportunity.

Cons

If you want to be just a number- this is the place. First your number is the acquisition price. Client service is not their line of business- buying other businesses is. Next your number is your comp. I hope you like this number since it will be unlikely that it’ll change for a long time. Getting promotions and raises are as rare as they come. Next, your number is the absurd amount of extra hours you will devote to the most unappreciative company I’ve ever worked with. Family? Don’t bother having one if you are going to work here. Since there’s no verbal feedback or mentor ship throughout the year, you will also be assigned a rating once a year. But even if you get a good rating, it doesn’t mean much. There’s no clear direction of what is expected because management is too busy focusing on acquiring new firms. The handbook is a joke and vague enough for arbitrary decisions to be made at management discretion. What’s more funny is that if you go to HR for clarification, they’ll just direct you to the Handbook since they don’t actually know what the rules are. And forget about asking IT anything. Unless you are okay with a week turnaround and another “there’s a lot of good information in the network” response. I wouldn’t wish this employer on my worst enemy. They are toxic at best, and unethical and discriminatory at worst.

As a company that values growth and exceptional client service, we have experienced significant expansion in the form of acquisitions in the last few years. We continuously seek opportunities for expansion not only for the growth of our clients, but also for the growth of our staff because with each acquisition comes new industry and service learning opportunities. In addition, every Sikich staff member goes through a collaborative annual review process, in which promotions and increases in compensation are always discussed. This is not the only form of performance-based discussion, either; supervisors and leaders are expected to thoroughly communicate feedback to their teams regularly. Though our professionals are sometimes expected to work additional hours during busier seasons, we are pleased offer a competitive paid-time-off policy and the ability to work entirely remote, so that our staff can enjoy vacations and extra time with their families. The majority of our employees have children, spouses and even grandchildren—and new mothers and fathers can benefit from our 12-week paid maternity and paternity leaves. Our employee handbook is reviewed each year, with new additions, clarifications and detailed explanations. Beyond this, each employee has a dedicated human capital representative they can go to with questions or concerns if they do not feel comfortable addressing their direct supervisor. Lastly, our IT helpdesk team works around the clock to ensure everyone has access to the proper technology and software so our team members can adequately do their job. Their response time, even after hours, is second-to-none, with responses coming to employees within the hour. We are disappointed you have found so many challenges with our company and hope the above explanations summarize our policies and commitment to our employees. We encourage our staff to speak up when problems arise, so that proper solutions can be employed immediately.

Pros

- remote work culture that began before covid and has continued - manageable billable hour goals and doesn’t penalize employees for time on the bench between projects - did not do layoffs during government shutdown like some other firms did

Cons

- no formal training plan for new hires or current employees - no automatic COLA adjustments (raises are on merit only) - not a ton of diversity but is improving - multiple recent reorganizations as firm grows (impacts management, little to no impact for staff)

Thank you for sharing your experience, and for the positive observations about our company! We agree it's a great place to work. We encourage you to reach out to your manager to learn more about the training and development opportunities available to all employees, including new hires, through Sikich University. Those courses, along with more information, are also accessible via our intranet site under the LCVista app. Thanks, again!

Pros

Decent place to get Federal audit experience. Good health insurance benefits

Cons

Salary and raises (2% raise for meeting expectations, 3% raises for exceeding expectations). Absolutely awful and doesn't even keep pace with inflation, meaning even after the raises you're financially worse off than the year prior. Principals/Management seems to be disjointed with feedback full of corporate jargon rather than substantive examples and helpful guidance. Pressures to become a Top 10/15 ($1B+ revenue) company seems to have neglected organic growth. Private Equity investment has began to transform pressures from the top down. CEO using the word "family" in regards to the company, when the treatment is anything but how you would treat family.
