Terrible - Customer Service Representative Signature Aviation Employee Review

Pros

The job/work can be fun and there is variety. If you like customer service and/or aviation this would be the a great entry level position, just not at the location I worked at. The health insurance was also pretty good and the pay was fair.

Cons

The managers are terrible and have created an unsafe working environment. The district GM held me in her office and physically called in my direct supervisor and the site manager to hear all of my grievances. Though I don’t have an issue confronting individuals I have an issue with, I had previously expressed all of my concerns to the lower level management and being cornered in a room with 3 managers against one didn’t feel safe. I did not feel comfortable or that I could leave and while the 4 of us were in her office she told me if I wanted to leave or address the thefts and discrimination activities that I needed to hash it out right then and there with everyone in that room or I’d get “points” for leaving early and basically be terminated. I would like to think there is some sort of protection for a whistleblower but home office was just as useless in supporting me or my concerns even after providing proof of some of my accusations. HR did agree it was bad business to have trapped me in that room but said my manager that has worked 20 years at Signature “just didn’t know better”. I handled my concerns and the situation as suggested in the employee handbook and contacted the appropriate individuals at the suggested times. I was often told to do things I was not comfortable with. Management called employees who were less fortunate and disabled names. I was harassed and discriminated against and when I approached my direct supervisor about my co-workers behaviors, I told it was a known issue and there is nothing to due but be nicer to them if I wanted to keep the peace and therefore my job.

Pros

Decent Pay, and relatively easy work. Also education reimbursement benefits. I have great coworkers who are intelligent and enjoyable to work alongside. Middle management tries their best but is constantly overridden by corporate executives who are completely out of touch with reality.

Cons

The corporate leadership of this company absolutely ruins everything it touches. In the one year I worked here, all of our shift differential bonuses were quietly removed, we were forced to use devices to track every activity in order to “optimize the workforce”, and our vacation blackout days were nearly doubled. We had a manager position filled by a complete random (a corporate decision) from another company, instead of promoting any of the several employees who already had worked here for years with an in depth knowledge of the operation and a willingness to step in to the position. The new manager ruined the commercial fuel ops flight schedules for two months and then promptly quit claiming he had family issues….because he had moved thousands of miles away from his wife and kids to work at our base. Not a lot of forward thinking went into a hiring choice that cost everyone at our base weeks of stress and confusion. I could honestly go on forever. I have never seen a company so dramatically committed to screwing their employees over and I know it will only get worse.
