Pros

Remote working Above minimum wage with opportunities for career progression Large company with various roles available and opportunities to transfer to different departments with a variety of jobs to choose from A thorough 4 weeks of classroom style training via Teams to prepare you for the role Regular feedback and coaching to enable you to develop as an employee High standards of customer service is taught to all call center agents Occasional overtime available

Cons

Career progression is slow and is often limited by favouritism Toxic competitiveness is encouraged by management, I.e daily emails showing the statistics of everyone in the department so colleagues are constantly completing against each other desperate for the few promotions available Micromanagement is rife Jokes about my job security were often made by my manager during our 1 to 1 meeting's, "you don't want to be at the job center by Easter do you?" Was said to me in the new year shortly before losing my job. This is despite having the best CCR scores out of the 46 people in the department consistently and my bosses boss even told me that my stats were incredible, especially for a newer employee and the best she had seen in the 4 years she was a manager. Was told at day 2 of being on the job, after the first month was for training that I wasn't cut out for to the job due to me asking for the EAP services for PTSD (I had started therapy with this service at my old job with no issues and was foolish to think I would recieve the same decency. I literally had to beg my manager to let me keep the job, go into details about my PTSD diagnosis, and pleed with her that it wouldn't affect my job performance. I was basically accused of being crazier/ more damaged than our customers (who we're often vulnerable). When I told this manager that my test results for the exams during training were the highest in the group, she dismissed this saying that it doesn't mean I can hack it on the phones Jealousy is common and toxic due to the above issues, in my case this led to an average performing co-worker to start a campaign of malicious gossip and verbal abuse towards me in older to humiliate me and it ultimately ruined my reputation beyond repair. Discrimination towards mental health, I was forced to give up trauma therapy for PTSD as a result Held an ambush meeting with zero notice, the meeting was 2 hours which led to me being fired for gross misconduct for having a panic attack and DURING the actual panic attack. They literally watched me have a panic attack and fired me. Neither of the two people hosting the meeting had the basic decency to offer a break or to postpone it until I stopped having the panit attack. When I say I had a panic attack I mean a full on short of breath, panting, crying, barely able to talk panic attack and still they carried on with the meeting. Did not deal with workplace bullying and worse still, condone it, dismissing it as childish squabbles whereby the target of the bullying is seen as just as guilty as the act bully. Set up to fail if you are not one of their favourites. Harsher standards were placed on me than other colleagues, I was told off for minor things that others were not. I had to go to ACAS to get support so I was able to "quit" with a basic reference as opposed to fired for gross misconduct. I do not see why the rest of my life and any hope of a future job should be ruined by this unfortunate experience
