Pros

- Helpful team members and supportive managers - Unlimited PTO - Flexible working hours to an extent as long as you meet deadlines - Mental health days

Cons

- Very demanding job and senior leadership can be really very hard to impress (they expect you to be PERFECT every single time) - Extremely SEO heavy role, don't confuse this for a content strategy / writing role (which is something they should disclose during interviews and job descriptions) - Constant changes and updates to processes. Be prepared to be always be on top of new tools, new content formats, new team structures etc - Even if you're a decent performer, you'll never feel satisfied due to the constant passive-aggressive feedback from your manager/director - You wear a lot of hats: writer, SEO specialist, project management, client comm, the burnout is REAL!

Pros

- Care about the well-being of people and company culture - Open to feedback - Variety of clients - Ongoing training - Remote work - Benefits like PTO + mental health days, company holidays, sabbatical, etc. - Promotes from within, in addition to some outside hires

Cons

It can feel fast-paced for some, but that's pretty standard for agencies

Pros

Interesting variety of work, with supportive management (depending on whose team you're on), the framework of a positive company culture

Cons

The CMS role is actually about 3 roles in one, working across multiple disciplines and clients can make you feel like a "Jack of all trades, master of none", clients can be very demanding and there's a bit of a culture of toxic positivity in management, where they seem to have a real grin and bare it attitude
