Pros

ShoreTrips was a great place to get a head start and learn about the ins and outs of the business world from a grass roots point of view. There was decent compensation, generous vacation time and a casual work environment (for those that enjoy casual). Management is quite kind and understanding of any situations you might be in. A very good company to get your foot in the door and even move up, if you are patient. ShoreTrips has a great product and will continue to grow.

Cons

A personal challenge for me was reconciling my personality with the style of the company. Basically you have to make sure that you as a person will be a good fit to work here. It is a great place to work if you like fun coworkers, fun work and a lot of freedom to learn new things. Sometimes senior management would get so bogged down with work and tasks they could not satisfy the ambitions of some employees. The environment is very, very casual and for someone who is seeking big business, high risk/reward and high pressure environments it just may not be the right fit.

Pros

When you are passionate about travel and get paid to market travel it equals dream job. This is a small, family owned company which means non of the read tape of a large company. Travel perks are a part of the job. The owners are the most generous people I have ever worked for.

Cons

No health care benefits or 401 k.

Pros

ShoreTrips was my first "real" job after college. When I left the company after about three years of working in a very busy environment, I thanked both owners for their guidance and providing me the opportunity to work for them. I learned so much about what makes a business "tick" and, even more, what motivated me to work hard for the owners --who I found both to be flexible, appreciative, and people who went way out of their way to meet everyone's individual needs. It was a stimulating environment. These were very clever and astute business people and I learned a lot from them.

Cons

I was surprised to read a previous reviewer's comments (and my time at ShoreTrips probably overlapped theirs) because, though we really had extremely busy times, I never experienced the issues mentioned. When you have a small office there are always going to be a variety of personalities with different levels of experience and, just like anywhere, some people will disagree or compete --but I never experienced any of that with anyone or even saw much of that happening in the years I was employed there. I found the owners to be thoughtful, smart, and having great senses of humor!
