Shopee is a strong company with a clear and well-structured business strategy. The company provides good learning opportunities and employee development, especially in building a fast-paced, analytical, and competitive work mindset. The salary and compensation are also relatively good compared to many companies in the same industry.
Cons
On the other hand, the company is perceived as not being very open to criticism from employees. There are concerns about unfair termination practices, including the use of Performance Improvement Plans/PIP as a tool that appears to be aimed at improving performance, but in practice may be used as a pathway to terminate employees. There are also concerns regarding employee rights, such as not providing proper severance pay, alleged violations of labor regulations, and pressure on employees not to disclose problematic internal practices. Overtime work is also seen as being normalized without proper compensation or benefits.
