Research is a good work environment, full of smart, dedicated visionaries. Research leadership is very supportive of their staff, although sometimes they must fight the main hospital administration to do so.
Cons
As is the case everywhere, budgets are tight and grants are limited. These outward pressures can cause some stress and anxiety in research departments.
