Pros
My number one reason for working at Shepherd is our patients; they are incredible people, totally inspiring. After experiencing catastrophic, life changing injuries and illnesses they rise and not only do they accomplish great things, they inspire the rest of us who are lucky enough to work with them. Pictures of them are all around the hospital. I love that. Shepherd has your back. They are so supportive I was even able to work during my cancer treatment. Shepherd also kept us safe during Covid, updating us daily and providing the proper PPE. Shepherd uplifts and motivates employees. They respond immediately/effectively to address needs as they arise. They support us in so many ways. At Shepherd we work as a team. My coworkers are definitely the best in the business and always step in to help each other get the job done . It's a great feeling to know if you have to call a code, you will have an immediate and smooth response. Patient safety is our top priority. There are so many reasons I love working at Shepherd. As a mom, the Shepherd story touches my heart. We value our patients knowing they are sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, and we want them to have the same care we would want our own kids to have. Shepherd care is state of the art so we are constantly learning. I especially love the culture at Shepherd. Smiles and friendly greetings are the norm.
Cons
Sometimes work doesn't fit into an 8 hour day.
