Pros

Shack was my first work experience when I came to the UK so very grateful for the opportunity. It is very flexible if you are a student as there is no commitment, and there are plenty of shifts available during summer.

Cons

Some managers and regular employees (not all) can be very condescending to new comers.

Pros

Working at Shack Events provided a great opportunity to develop strong customer service skills in high-pressure environments. The experience of working at large venues like Wembley Stadium and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was exciting and built confidence quickly. Teamwork is a big strength—colleagues are generally supportive, and everyone works together to meet service demands during busy periods. The role also helps build resilience, communication skills, and the ability to think on your feet, which are valuable in any future career.

Cons

The role can be very demanding, especially during peak times where the pace is intense and breaks can be limited. Shifts can be long and physically tiring, particularly when working back-to-back events. As with many event-based roles, hours can sometimes feel inconsistent, and communication around shifts or expectations could occasionally be clearer.
