Pros
Sentry has a legitimate commitment to open source. This goes beyond merely releasing software in an open source manner, but also regular financial contributions to significant OSS and a strong culture of hacking. In many ways, Sentry feels like a type of software company that has long disappeared from Silicon Valley: a fun market identity, solving a clearly defined problem, with loyal customers. You ship features and fixes and people are happy. No major controversies here.
Cons
Like all good companies, plenty of contradictions here. The hardest one: this is a product company, but in my tenure we didn't have great product or design support. Like honestly a ton of product questions are hard to get routed, and worse some of those decisions get undermined later on.
