Good Startup Culture - Software Engineer Sensible Weather Employee Review

They provide great medical benefits, and strongly encourage a work/life balance. It's a fully remote company, so they do an offsite every year (which is not a requirement to attend). Everyone on the team is genuinely kind, and we all believe in the company and the Weather Guarantee which keeps us all motivated and working hard. The team vibe is overall laidback but highly cross-functional and collaborative, so people don't become siloed. Because it's a young company, there are great opportunities for career opportunities.

Can't think of any at the moment

Sensible is a gem of a company. I’ve worked here for about 8 months now and that’s been long enough to see that it gets all of the important things right. The leadership team is talented and humble. The culture is one of creative, collaborative, thoughtful problem solvers who enjoy a challenge. There are open minds. There are no big egos. There is work-life balance. There’s no commute, it’s 100% remote. There’s plenty of room to grow as a company and as a professional. Leadership values good UX (my field) because it values people. Some of those people are customers, some are business partners, and some are employees. We’re building meaningful products that people need and want. Sensible lives up to the promise of what work can be.

No real cons. Only con I can think of is that the work is 100% remote, which is also a very big pro for me, but every time we do have the chance to get together in person, it makes me wish we had a little more in-person interaction with each other.
