We love to work, and working is what we do. Being that my field is about process improvement and avoiding stagnation, taking risks and keeping ownership of issues from start to finish, I've found this company to be extremely open to new ideas and is very receptive to feedback. Good or bad, it's wanted with a hunger, a craving to find the truth, not politics. These are without a doubt the best people I've worked with in multiple careers and trades throughout my life, from an ASE Master Automobile Technician for both Honda and Audi, and as well as some of the founding companies in the beginning of the internet; places like Netcom and Exodus and @Home. Cybertrust and NetApp, to name a few. We make big decisions, and run current hardware, current software, and have a keen interest in staying on top of the tech curve. Everyone here is competent and friendly, and retention across most positions span 6 and even 12 years!! At a time when Facebook is bragging about how they've got the highest average turnover of not even a year and a half, the numbers don't lie. We take good care of our employees with excellent benefits, and have an entire "Fun Bus" committee with an annual budget that allows us to really make work feel more like home, or home feel more like work. These are trying times in this country right now, it's more important than ever to stay in touch with friends and family-- our product makes that easy. Our gifts are awesome and I never worry about suggesting my friends use our service, only to find some broken crumbly dry "gift" included in a box that looks like about what you'd expect from other services. These are gifts people LIKE. And they're cards made on some really impressive equipment. I feel good working here, like how an eye doctor feels good about their patients leaving their office every time, able to see clearer than when they entered. Far different from our poor dentists, struggling to help the patient with the unavoidable fear and anxiety that is often present. SOC is like an eye doctor, providing a window to someone you care about. How can I not like this job?
