-There is one particular leader who has been mentioned in several other reviews. She was the driver of what I felt to be a long-range targeted campaign of harassment and bullying that led to one of the most toxic and stressful work environments I’ve ever been in. Straight up hostile in my opinion. I was always fearing for my job security because it felt like she had a personal vendetta against specific individuals and team(s?) in her dept. We could never figure out why. Many people I spoke with had never even met her face-to-face. My mental health was in the dumpster by the time I was dismissed with zero warning.
-Sexism. Female employees were called “girls” regularly by male managers, which was one of the much lighter examples of what I felt was a consistently biased male-dominated workplace experience. In my opinion, it was an old boys club with young faces.
- I personally witnessed other ‘isms that I can’t disclose here without revealing myself. This is the type of org I fear would retaliate against me for giving my honest feedback about my personal experience.
-All of this was reported to HR by numerous individuals (from what I was told) across teams and functionalities. If HR did address it, I couldn’t tell. Neither could anyone else I spoke with in the department. This individual in leadership continues to work there and she was unprofessional up until the day I was terminated. It felt as if our own HR partner was routinely dodging us because they knew there was nothing that they could do from their position.
-I’m afraid of applying to new positions. I’ve lost the confidence I had before Semrush. I’m changed … and not for the better.
