Pros

- The CEO and original leadership are kind people and great leaders - Oleg in particular truly cares about the people who work at Semrush and even if you don't interact with him directly, you see it on all company calls - The pay is very competitive (any posts about poor compensation are likely older) - 100% remote work options - The product is great

Cons

- There is severe micromanagement at the highest levels of leadership on the global marketing team. C-level leadership reviews decks and work created by several levels down instead of trusting and empowering teams. When feedback is provided, it is done in a disrespectful and demeaning tone. Direct communication often comes in an accusatory tone vs. a supportive and constructive tone. This is a wide-spread, known issue on the marketing team, but there is no way to provide this feedback. Most companies of this size will survey their employees and allow for anonymous feedback to check with their employees on how they're doing and gather any challenges that are impacting more than one employee. Semrush doesn't do anything like this, which allows leaders to treat their teams poorly. How can Semrush can better as a place of work if it isn't checking in on its employees?

Cons

There's a lot to learn, which isn't a con - but something good to know.

Pros

The product is an industry leader, making it exciting to work on. The teams are filled with incredibly smart, creative, and collaborative people. Benefits and remote flexibility are solid, and there are good opportunities to learn SEO and digital marketing deeply.

Cons

The work culture can occasionally lean toward working harder than playing hard especially as the company scales.
