Pros

Deadlines are simply pushed back, low risk of working overtime, layoffs.

Cons

Personal Growth: - 0 company growth, unable to secure funding despite increased interest in the area and being pioneers themselves - Low pay - High attrition rate - Difficulty attracting new people, especially seniors - No career path - No educational budget Product: - No current product vision other than fixing bugs - Huge technical debt (working with current tech unlikely, heavy reliance on old outdated tech) - Adopted Agile with all the meeting ceremonies of Scrum but without giving the product team the necessary authority to be agile - Still only 1 release/year after adopting “Agile” Management: - Lacking people skills - No trust in people, decisions need to be escalated to C Level - New projects are always led by someone from C Level, never delegated - Very bureaucratic setup for a small company - General divide between C Level and rest of company - 0 woman in the C level, past and present, few women in general

Pros

nice office in city center some people are genuinely nice and helpful flexible working hours with option to work from home

Cons

employees are left to struggle a lot deadlines change a lot and it’s difficult to plan anything the company struggles to hire qualified workforce - they usually end up hiring people who are close to retirement and have never worked in IT before. This sounds nice in theory but in reality those people are really difficult to onboard and even after onboarding they fail at their tasks. This causes them a lot of stress and they have a habit of taking it out on younger colleagues - I had the same experience with people from different departments. toxic and incompetent seniors unfair distribution of work and generally high workload lots of technical debt from previous employees meeting account for 50 to 70 % of my working time (just for comparison: it used to be up to 25 at the company I worked before)
