CEO has just let go of 50% of the design team under the banner of- 'design isn't going to help us succeed in the near future'. This act was short sided and implosive but also detrimental to culture as it was not preempted. As much as the redundancy package was respectful, the language used by the CEO indicated lack of true empathy towards the layoffs. "This sucks...we needed to shift resources from location a to b" From what I hear, the CEO doesn't trust his employees. Not even his own direct reports/ executive leadership team and believes he has all of the answers.
