Pros

Some very wonderful people, some cool clients to put on your resume if you are lucky, remote work and actively tried to establish culture while working remotely. There were some really smart teammates that I learned from but that tended to be far and few between. Unlimited PTO - take it. Seriously just take it. Don't work the extra time for this agency and use the benefits given to you. The extra hours you give doesn't matter in the end. I would recommend it to smart people coming out of college to learn fast and then go somewhere else, but if you are in the middle of your career you won't typically thrive here since it has a lot of toxic work culture habits that just isn't worth it in the middle of your career. You can do better with less work and get paid more elsewhere while having the proper support and leadership to help you grow.

Cons

-Everything is a bit of a smoke show. They focus so much on saying how good they are but I was explaining basic SEO concepts to people that have been there for years. They were so focused on how they were doing it better than the rest of the industry but that simply is not true. The concepts they were bragging about were not novel just the way the presented it was slightly different and Wil felt special from his big talks on it. I regularly had to correct the data team's work and we were actively showing clients the wrong data and making recommendations on it. -Almost all leadership are homegrown and has a bit of a cult feel. There are only a handful of people in leadership roles that didn't start out at Seer. I saw people leading teams with less than 5 years experience out of college. Like yes, they were relatively smart people, but when you expand responsibilities that much in that short of a time they just don't have the proper experience to lead teams effectively. It makes it very hard to come in as someone with other agency experience and be willing to be led by someone that has no idea what they are doing and you have to be the one educating them while they get the credit. I was leading up one the large accounts and regularly talked down to in a condescending manner from long time employees because I was still new to the company. -Extreme lack of accountability across all roles. I saw team leads barely understand what was going on on an account, show up late to meetings, miss meetings, just not do their work, and actively make a fool of themselves in front of clients from not being prepared. The lack of accountability starts from the bottom though. People got shout outs for doing less than the bare minimum and still getting promoted, which led to people in all roles that have no idea what they were doing and aren't accountable making others have to pick up the slack. -Clients could get some of the best performs or they could get people that literally had no idea what they were talking about and most likely providing horrible recommendations. I get asked often for agency referrals for businesses and I would never in good conscious recommend Seer since the actual level of skill and knowledge could range so much in the same role for the account that gets staffed. -Some of the worst managers I've ever seen. I actively went over 6 months with my direct manager cancelling our 1:1 and said she had no idea what I was doing when we actually talked, which was a joke since I had been providing written updates regularly she just obviously didn't read them. I shared this with the People VP and she was so upset from it but nothing was ever done and that person keeps being promoted and is now on the teams top leadership. -Hidden bonus structure was a joke. I saw people getting massive bonuses (for here) because they sucked up to the owner meanwhile people doing amazing work and working 50-60 hr weeks to make up for the people that weren't doing their jobs (because they were sucking up to Wil) got a few hundred dollars. If you were willing to suck up to Wil then it may be worth it to you, but it was never right to set up bonuses this way to motivate people to actually help the clients.

Pros

Seer is made for a very specific type of person: Smart, caring, organized, and collaborative. If you fit here, you REALLY fit. I will admit, the negative reviews had me a bit apprehensive, but I cannot emphasize this enough: You don’t know you’ll like or dislike something unless you give it a chance. And, you should give Seer a chance. You might just learn something incredible. Because of this, I’m over the moon I chose Seer. - exceptional benefits / pay / bonus structure connected to incentivized engagement - brilliant people who care and want to help - unlimited PTO that you’re encouraged to use - Office politics and all that other stuff is not tolerated; the company has some of the best culture I’ve been a part of in a long time - the work can be difficult, but only for short bursts, most of the time it is (75% of the month) straightforward work and innovation. One week will be hectic and then it’s smooth sailing. A very good balance. I used to be overworked every single day. Not here. Managers are here to support you. First company I’ve been at in over a decade where this is the case.

Cons

None at this time! I would say the first 90 days is a learning curve, then it gets exponentially easier. And, everyone answers your questions in the blink of an eye.
