Pros

Really wonderful people, I have made some friends for life who I cherish dearly The work itself is interesting; you're embedded in the ecosphere of start-ups which makes the work fun, challenging and continuing to help push you You're given a lot of autonomy

Cons

The salary is very insulting. There is nothing more to say on this. It is way below market rate and waiting for things to change will leave you with zero pocket change. Even our competitors are paid more. Pay your people what they are worth. The M&A has not gone accordingly to plan. Seedrs is still Seedrs. The brand identity is all over the place and is not cohesive with the fact that we are now Republic. There is a lack of strategy delivered from top-down. Macro-economic conditions have, of course, affected fundraising across the board - but there was not enough dynamism taken on board by senior leadership to ensure the product could adapt to the times we are living in. The leader of my division had no foresight, strategy, communication or clarity on the future of the team. A lot of top-down pressure on mid-level management to deliver without any clarity on what we're delivering, why we're delivering it, and most importantly - how (in lieu of market condition drawbacks) No career progression - good luck getting to management level when you have no way of performing after unrealistic expectations have been set. - Very high turnover

Pros

The projects were interesting and offered great opportunities to work on meaningful initiatives. Colleagues were collaborative and enjoyable to work with, creating a positive team atmosphere—at least before many of them were unfortunately made redundant.

Cons

Senior management often engaged in office politics, which at times came at the expense of employees’ job security. The Republic side of the team created a challenging environment, with toxicity that affected morale and collaboration. Prior to a major round of redundancies, the former Seedrs CEO assured employees everything was stable and that “we are a family,” which felt disingenuous in light of what followed—a significant red flag. Some leaders, particularly within product management, came across as detached, which made it difficult to trust in their support and commitment to the team’s well-being.
