Pros
Securitec is the nationwide leader in the background screening industry, dealing with hundreds of clients and vendors all over the US. There are plenty of opportunities for employees to advance with the company.
Training and retention of employees have been a focus over the past year with great results. All departments have been restructured and reorganized with different members of management, including more team leads. Training is a 6-week process with a very structured program, a classroom environment, and mentor trainers who work one-on-one with trainees. An experienced Director of Human Resources has streamlined company policies for clarity and consistency.
Employees are expected to have good typing skills, be able to work with dual screens, have the ability to work independently, and respond well to deadlines. The team concept is strong throughout departments, but the company recognizes that personal time management and organization are integral to the success of its employees.
Securitec treats its employees well with medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401K matching plan to 5%, paid time off, personal time, short-term disability, life insurance paid by the company, and a gym membership. The dress code is relaxed so employees can be comfortable while working in their cubicles. Use of music via headphones or earbuds is encouraged so people can concentrate and be productive. The company pushes a work-life balance with limited overtime. Previously, there was required overtime, but that’s been phased out.
Cons
Prospective employees who cannot sit at a computer for long periods of time may not be a good fit for positions within the company.
