Pros
Good benefits Very friendly and nice people Lots of different types of opportunities and internal hiring Employee interest groups and clubs you can join for almost any interest Fair pay at least for my position that I had All of the cons I will list, they are actively working to improve
Cons
The company very heavily favors those who have worked there a long time and their family members. They are not super receptive to new ideas. It's a place where you cannot always be yourself at work. There were a lot of efforts from higher up to change this but my own supervisor did not seem to want to contribute to any of the changes. Located in Saint Paul it is a very diverse area but almost all of the people who work at Securian are white, protestant, and married at a young age with kids and suburban homeowners so for those who don't fit that profile it's hard to fit in.
