Pros
The culture is different at each office because the field offices take on the culture of the Managing Partner. Our office is going through some transition with the managing partners and the culture is changing. The Securian Culture is very positive and most people enjoy the company and are committed to Securian. You are not locked into sell Securian products, but they have a good suite of products and try to support you in sales. In the last few years, they have added investment compensation to the qualification formulas for trips and benefits (it used to be if you didn't sell insurance, you didn't qualify for many of the perks).
Cons
Securian has really ramped up their requirements for the annual trip qualifications so that many of the old guard did not make it this year. They continue to add fees and pay less of our expenses each year, so that my net is reduced. Medical insurance is quite expensive in both the premium and also the out of pocket. Insurance products are changing so they don't pay trails.
