Pros

Very professional atmosphere, gossip free, mature co workers. 95% women and they all support one another and are very friendly and encouraging. The company really cares about the staff. Theres a lot of potlucks, they have luncheons for holidays, parties, tailgates, contests, something to promote comraderie is always in the making. Vacations are easy to request. They promote taking time off. Very small company so very close knit. Managers do not micro-manage because theyre busy doing their own work and they actually do work!! The managers work very hard! I think the managers here work harder than the staff! Ive never seen that! The pay is good. I dont know about the medical it seems high but i dont use it. The 401k is great and aflac! Very good place to work. And they give raises with employee evals every year. Another pro is they like to hire from current employee referrals, so HR encourages referrals from current employees. Thats good because they trust the staff judgement. Paid holidays and many of them. They close on holidays. Hrs are monday thru friday 8 to 5. No weekends. very impressed with this company

Cons

No room for advancement because theres really nothing to advance to with the company being so small. Theres not many roles to move into unless youre a nurse, u can move into disease management or case management but as far as advancing to a leadership role, there isnt really any. Its a good place to get to know the industry but if you want to get into more advanced roles in insurance u just have to leave to a bigger company like Aetna or something. But Secure health is a good peaceful place to become seasoned for roles in bigger companies. You work at a cubicle and theres no door to it so you feel compelled to whisper when u talk because you dont want to disturb anyone else. The cubicles are close to one another. The office is always extremely quiet all u hear is typing. No one leaves their cubicle really everyone just keeps to themselves unless theyre assisting eachother. The facility shuts down at 12 to 1 for lunch and u cant choose your own lunch time but the upside is u can eat at your desk whenever u want. Theres a lot to remember in doing the work. Like a lot of different steps to remember for the different clients they serve.
