Pros
I worked at Secret Charm for a few years and have grown a lot with the company. If you show a willingness to learn and take initiative, there are a lot of career growth opportunities available but it’s a very self-motivated job. The company is pretty big which means a lot of resources when it comes to design. Since there are many resources and you get to work cross functionally across teams in the same building, it is a great opportunity to learn how the industry works if you are curious. I think it depends on the division you’re in, but the team I was apart of had a very relaxed atmosphere, helpful team, and easygoing supervisor. The building is also new and well kept, which was a big plus for me.
Cons
The company again is pretty big which comes with some caveats—things like promotions can be difficult because you can fall through the cracks and there aren’t handouts, but in my experience they have been fairly accommodating when I was proactive in my work and asked (again, a very self-motivated work culture). I also agree with others that the parking situation isn’t great but that has been the case with most of the downtown offices I’ve worked at :/
