Pros

Business seems to be good. Benefits are ok.

Cons

Place is a total train wreck, lacks integrity. The culture they try to promote falls flat and is toxic and controlling. If you are a minion with no opinion, you will love this place and they will love you. Prior to all of this though, you of course have to get interviewed by certain people at the tail end of the process to see if you are a "culture fit". This step is important because they dont trust their managers. This is fine but what is funny is that those same people who are evaluating culture are rarely in the office to even know what is truly going on half of the time, so having them evaluate potential employees for culture is silly and what is often laughed about on in the office. So, lets say you're one of the chosen ones who has been hired to their elite organization, you have left a job for Second Life's "opportunity". This "opportunity" and talk of elevating your career is exciting until one day, abruptly, it is determined by someone that you don't fit in. The kicker is that you will never see it coming because communication is non-existent and no one has had the courage to have that conversation with you. So, a silent treatment of sorts ensues and then poof you're out the door. Pretty sad. HR practices are a joke. On the surface Second Life seems pretty good, they are experiencing growth, say they have upward mobility, promote their said values, etc but in the end their values are meaningless and leadership lacks integrity. Without integrity, you have nothing.

Pros

I had the best years of my sales career here and their finance team was amazing when I got my commission each month. My $200k base alone was way over my past job’s on target commission which gave me the confidence to leave my current position for this small business startup. After starting and seeing my first years commissions of $350k, I had the biggest paycheck year in my entire career. Their leadership has lots of experience running other past successful businesses and it really shows from our success over the years. I can’t go back working for a big company again after working here because it’s great to see a small business take care of their people by sharing the company profit and the growth of the business together as a team.

Cons

Some may think this is a negative, but leadership is not afraid of letting go of any team members that are not aligned with their vision or any non-performers. If you are successful, you will be surrounded by other like-minded individuals that cannot deal with anyone that is any less. There really isn’t any tolerance for average effort individuals here and you don’t have to spend months with them while they go through performance plans, etc. you’re always surrounded by high performing team members or new ones replacing old positions.

Pros

Work Life Balance is great. The job is pretty straightforward just use the software system to erase the data on the products. Grading IPADS and Macbooks is also easy to do. The Company Outings and the free food during the Holidays were good to boost morale. The coworkers were the best part of the job when I was there. The company would hand out bonuses to the employees and gifts during the holidays. HR is pretty flexible with time off.

Cons

They expect the Techs to produce numbers and if you can't then they will let you go. Can get let go at anytime which is the worst if you have bills to pay. I have seen it first hand people getting hired and not staying long. HR can be kind of shady. Management does play favorites at this company. There is also Mandatory OT so be prepared to stay.
