Pros

SearchPilot has a genuinely supportive and collaborative culture. Even though I am relatively new to the industry, everyone has been incredibly welcoming and willing to help from day one. I've never felt left out, and there is always someone happy to answer questions, share knowledge, or provide guidance when needed. The team is made up of talented and approachable people, and there is a strong focus on learning, professional development, and continuous improvement. The work itself is interesting and impactful, with a data-driven approach to experimentation and decision-making. There is also a high level of trust and autonomy, allowing individuals to take ownership of their work while knowing support is always available when needed. Overall, it's a great environment for both personal and professional growth.

Cons

I haven't identified any major cons so far. My experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and the challenges I've encountered have been the typical learning opportunities that come with joining a new company and role.

Pros

I'm really glad I landed at SearchPilot. The team is very skilled and eager to teach newcomers what they know. I'm used to seeing startups churn through workers fast, so I've been pleasantly surprised to see how long people tend to stay here. The benefits are very very good, on par with what you'd expect to get in Europe. The team's diversity is good for a tech company and upper management seems genuinely committed to improving diversity and listening to staff feedback. Work/life balance is very good; you're going to be "on" and working 100% of the time you're at work, but hours are not long.

Cons

There's a steep learning curve at the beginning, since you have to pick up not just technical SEO knowledge but knowledge of how to use a proprietary product and how to work on multiple client accounts in very different industries. Clients will expect a lot from you in terms of technical skills, accuracy, and responsiveness. The work is doable but it feels a bit overwhelming at first.

Pros

SearchPilot span out of Distilled, and I migrated over. I've worked here 10 years, and love the culture. The work is intellectually challenging and mostly fun. The team is full of good people who make it a good work environment. The company cares about the team, which has been proven over and again by allowing various work arrangements and being flexible. I've benefitted from this many times myself, from parental leave when I joined (so didn't qualify for it, but they gave it), through to recently moving to remote for family reasons. A small recent example was everyone was given a bonus day off before a long weekend, to turn it into a 5 day break, to provide an opportunity for a break during the pandemic. In terms of career opportunities - it is a growing company that is still not large (15 people), so every member is given plenty of opportunities to own things and challenge themselves, and to make a real impact on the product and for our customers. We collaborate well, and people are free to delegate upwards as well as down.

Cons

SearchPilot span out of Distilled in Feb 2020, where there was a bigger team. The demographics are better than most tech companies both in terms of gender and racial diversity (currently 40% of staff are female), but there is still space for improvement. However, the company has not only created policies to strongly push for diversity in hiring, but have recently stuck to their guns in not hiring for roles where the applicants haven't provided an opportunity to interview diversely. I think that shows it is more than words, and I'm optimistic this will continue to improve.
