Pros
Search It Local is definitely a unique place to work. Its a smaller company so the relationships you build with each other are alot more genuine. I can truly say that everyone working here are friends of mine and we actually enjoy being around each other. I also like that the access to management is very easy. They don't hide behind doors or titles and are very down to earth and relatable. More importantly, they actively ask for the input and suggestions of the staff to steer the company policy and operations, so if you are creative and like to have input on how things are done, this is the place for you. The culture is another strong point, the office has zero feelings or corporateness and over formalities. Victories of any kind are genuinely celebrated and this is a place where you really feel like you input is making a difference.
Cons
Its a tough industry and you are expected to put in alot of effort. This is not the type of job you can just punch out at 5.00 everyday on the dot, but you wont want to either. You are expected to have alot of drive and personal discipline to do well here. This is not a negative for me, but if you need a totally structured environment you wont fully flourish here. The environment at SIL is designed for those that have high drive and ambition and are able to hold themselves accountable. But if you're humble, curious and motivated you will excel here.
