Pros

every one is super nice and supportive, if you have any problems people work together to get the jobs done. communication is considered very important and you are likely to have 1 on 1 conversations with upper level management frequently.

Cons

is not a typical work environment.

Pros

I was pretty excited to work at this company at first, but when I started to hear from those within I was rapidly de-flatted, and it went downhill from there. This company has been around for several decades, originally only selling orings back when there were not many suppliers, so they were able to build an impressive client list. Now they are doing many other types of products. QC and production personnel are very free almost as if no managers overseeing the departments. They could do a lot better sales wise but lack good business plans. The maintenance department is always willing to help as are the fabric engineers, shipping, lab techs and CNC department.

Cons

No infrastructure to sustain the high-tech business at hand. I was told by many employees that the typical life span of new hires is 1 to 2 years or less usually fired but often quit when they see the work and upper management practices/personalities etc.. Its hard to get help here, but if you make a mistake it will be muddled among the sub-cultures within, or used against you when you are not around to defend yourself. Priorities change daily, but employees are still expected to complete all tasks in the same time frames. They seem to hire experienced professionals to try and absorb all of the knowledge and methods, and then dump them for lower paid people so they can try and guide them with their newly gained and accumulated practices. High expectations with minimal time to complete. They do not keep their promises in terms of pay and term of employment, and within the company can be known to be loose cannons no one knows what will happen or if they will have a job the next day. Small company mentality. I think they grew too fast without the proper people to manage it (because they dont stay around long enough).

Thank you for taking the time to provide such thorough feedback! We're sorry you had a negative experience and perception of Seal Science during your time with us! Unfortunately, no company is exempt from occasional growing pains. The gradual growth of the business inevitably led to the need for additional personnel to manage the expanding staff. Since the time of your review, we took concrete steps to ensure more efficient management of individual departments. A clearer chain of command now exists, and that better equipped us to manage any needed changes in direction. We seek to recruit and retain talent, not use it and discard it in the manner you suggest. Most of our department heads have a long history with Seal Science, and research with ADP indicates our compensation model remains on par with market rates. To paraphrase Henry Ford, our goal has always been to produce the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost, while paying the highest possible wages. Thank you again for your feedback and your contribution to Seal Science! We wish you the best in your future goals and aspirations!
