Pros

Good way to get clinical experience for pre-health students. A large part of the experience is dictated by the physician(s) you work under and the culture of the practice you're assigned to work at. Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself and communicate with your chief scribe if you're not happy with your placement.

Cons

Pay is minimum wage. Occasional monetary incentives but typically only $1-$2 on top of hourly if coverage is needed in a pinch or if training new scribes. Pay is fixed/not flexible. Spoke with management about possibility to increase my wage after 1 year of employment and was told no.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We truly value that this is a great opportunity for those looking to further education by going to Medical School/PA School/etc. This is why being a medical scribe is such a great experience as you really do get to see firsthand how medicine functions, which is something you really can’t get from other jobs or volunteer work. We are proud of the fact that we are the industry leader and strive to maintain competitive pay in every market. I hope you were also able to take advantage of some of ScribeAmerica’s other amazing benefits including employee discounts on things like computers, Kaplan prep courses, and even on Lyft.

Pros

I believe there's flexibility in some hours. Paid training.

Cons

My onboarding process has taken over 2 months and I've only clocked in for mandatory trainings with little to no communication from managers or hiring staff. $10 an hour.
