Pros

The second star is to honour the not so long ago past when Scott Logic was a welcoming, inclusive and great place to work with: Fantastic people amongst all rank up until senior leadership. Gifted technical staff with future-proof knowledge on emerging technology. Some extremely committed individuals. Decent work life balance. Decent healthcare policy. Easy to access office locations. Depending on when you joined, decent pay.

Cons

The company has lost its ways - they've gone from being a progressive, employer with an exciting future vision, culture and projects that were ahead of the curve to a place that seeks to push people out of the business through a variety of means - lay-offs, pay-offs, increase in office days. Those who can leave, do - usually top talent first. Many are looking because they don't feel listened to or worse, no longer feel safe or comfortable at this company. Despite staff morale being at an all-time low, leadership doesn't seem to acknowledge that and is instead questioning the intent and performance of their own people openly, despite attempts from staff-side to mend relations and bring people together. New strategy driven by founder returning to the CEO role seams tone-deaf to people's struggles, pushing a blanket return to office at all costs and brushing aside any struggles that come with it. The company is no longer people-focussed, as the new strategy is very clear about being "AI first". Not a strategy that makes the business stand out - the time to become AI-first was yesterday. Leadership seems blind-sided by AI hype and unchecked echo chambering, closed off within a small leadership-silo that is inpenetrable by anyone not already in it. Changes and processes default to traditional approaches that worked in the past but are not fit for the work environment of today or tomorrow, which is exacerbated by immature senior leaders whose experience mostly comes from within one company.

Pros

Colleagues are amazing, so kind and approachable. Office space is nice and spacious. Communities available both social and professional. The nicest company I ever worked for - until the end.

Cons

Colleagues were put under immense pressure at the end of 2025 where more redundancies were announced. Half of the testing department were made redundant. This has caused incredible pressure for those that lost their job and competing in a ridiculously tough market. Colleagues were given 1 day notice to leave the company and did not get to say goodbye or wish each other well. For a supposed people oriented company this is terrible. It seems every 2 or so years they have a flushing out technique announcing redundancies. Year on year scott logic are losing millions according to companies house accounts. Senior management were once approachable and involved. Information is now hidden and no longer transparent. Instead it is pushed down. Colleagues were pigeonholed into their skillset and little opportunity to go on projects that offered new skills. Those with years of experience are brought on to failing projects to improve collaboration and communication and delivery as SL seem to upset and anger clients showing poor delivery. Also accepting contracts that are impossible to meet. This prevents learning new skills needed for the market. Too many staff being put on improvement plans and brought into disciplinaries. Often excellent staff who have done nothing wrong. Colleagues leaving in waves for over 2 years now.
