Pros

Dress is casual People (outside of Management) are pretty cool

Cons

LONG hours (more than the usual) Upper Management is clueless/incompetent No Growth Nepotism Simply put: DON'T BE FOOLED, DON'T DO IT Don't be fooled by the salary at SG. The Accounting Departments are in complete disarray and the upper managements expectations are not realistic. You'll be doing the job of 2 for the price of 1 because the turn over is insane. Since I've been here, I've seen people walk out 3 days after being here, some after as little as 2 weeks. You'll always see openings at this place. IF you plan on switching departments, you will be blocked as they are so desperate to retain people.

Pros

Great work/life balance, reliable teamwork and support from management, opportunities for growth and exposure to new skills.

Cons

Coaching/overseeing a team in itself has a set of cons, which is what I primarily handle on a daily basis. This comes with any job, but you will have people on your team who need to improve on things such as lack of communication, lack of effort, no work ethic, and lack of skills. Motivating them can be difficult at times, and then you always seem to have a few who do things to avoid work. An accumulation of all these factors subsequently creates more, unnecessary, and redundant work for us. These types of people tend to eliminate themselves out over time due to poor performance and/or quit.

work/life balance, management, office politics and favoritism, lack of organization and communication, very inclusive unless you're a woman and have an opinion, job titles do not match role expectations and job duties
