Pros

Communicating with native language (Sinhala) (no exposure to English) Most of the team members are friendly. But there are some toxic leads in some teams. Organizing welfare activities once a year.

Cons

Comparatively salary is very low for freshers. No exposure of working with international clients. Some teams are supporting for the legacy systems written in very old tech stack such as VB6. If someone assigned to that kind of project, Hard to move to another project and also no career growth . There are some senior employees who are very unprofessional. Hard to work with them. Usually 40 working hours per week. but in few years back (2017) I had to work more than 55 hours per week until the project closure (more than six months) without any extra payment. it was compulsory. (The whole NTB project customizations they have done without paying any single penny other than the night time taxi fair and dinner arrangement. Had to travel here and there for meetings. Scienter doesn't use online platforms for meetings. Have to wear formal dress. We are not allowed to wear smart casual or even short sleeve shirts.

Pros

Nothing to say as Pros

Cons

Team leads are unprofessional, and even the CTO lacks professionalism. They do not grant leave even for valid reasons, despite employees having their entitled leave balance. Team leads use inappropriate language and openly blame employees in front of others, which is demoralizing and damaging to one’s confidence. It is very stressful to work in an environment where senior engineers are not supportive. As an intern, when you ask questions about things you don’t know, they either ignore you or simply respond with “I don’t know,” even when they clearly understand the topic. Overall, my internship experience here was very disappointing.
