Pros

The comprehensive training program was really great and intuitive. 2 week classroom training and then 3 months apprenticeship where you learned how to build your book of business and navigate the CRM.

Cons

Where to start, this is not a 9 to 5 job. They expect you to work after hours and on the weekends, and if you don't then "You're not team player." The pay is below the market average, and in my 2 years of working at Schneider I never once got a raise. We had 2 performance reviews each year and if you exceeded all expectations you got a pat on the back, and if you ask for a raise, they lean on the "That is what Commission is for." Managers play favorites, you can not and will not advance if a manager doesn't like you. Majority of the managers and directors have all been together since they started, and they've monopolized the Chicago manager positions for their friends. Lastly, non of these managers or directors have your best interests, they all have an agenda and it is to advance to the next position even if it is to a detriment to their team.

Pros

Dedicated local account, driver leaders are nice, equipment is decent.

Cons

$12/hr on duty, not driving pay. That’s ridiculous and includes everything except driving. Work can be inconsistent at times, hours can be long, no holiday or mileage bonus pay for a long time after hire, benefits are expensive. Schneider won’t allow drivers to use Bluetooth or any other hands-free device, INCLUDING HEARING AIDS, to receive calls while driving. This makes having a life outside of work and scheduling appointments almost impossible.

Thank you for your feedback and review. We review pay weekly to make sure it's competitive in the marketplace. We have an open door policy and always want to hear concerns like this from our drivers. Drive safe.
