Good stater company - Local Inter-modal Schneider Employee Review

Pros

They are up front. Get your experience and move on or move up. When starting with no experience don't expect to get paid experience driver pay. After a year to 6 months you can move up to a dedicated account and markets with Intermodal divisions require a year. Moving up the ranks in Van Truckload is becoming a Training engineer or Mentor and later down the road, you can apply to become a OSR if a position opens up.

Cons

Communication gap and holes between shippers, receivers, operations, customer service, and drivers makes for difficulties on some days.

Pros

Dedicated local account, driver leaders are nice, equipment is decent.

Cons

$12/hr on duty, not driving pay. That’s ridiculous and includes everything except driving. Work can be inconsistent at times, hours can be long, no holiday or mileage bonus pay for a long time after hire, benefits are expensive. Schneider won’t allow drivers to use Bluetooth or any other hands-free device, INCLUDING HEARING AIDS, to receive calls while driving. This makes having a life outside of work and scheduling appointments almost impossible.

Thank you for your feedback and review. We review pay weekly to make sure it's competitive in the marketplace. We have an open door policy and always want to hear concerns like this from our drivers. Drive safe.
