Pros

People themselves are generally nice. Work and life balance is actually ok, even through Tax season. As long you set a clear boundary when you are off. If you're looking to pad your resume, this is a great place if the management is willing to make changes. If they are, you will be able to experience putting together projects like ordering servers and putting them together. Keep in mind, you are doing essentially nearly everything a IT department would be doing. Helpdesk, sysadmin, project management and proposing recommendations and acting on it.

Cons

Management is behind on times. The biggest bigwig of the firm, he didn't even know what notification means when I mentioned it one day. Outdated policies - one team policy. No unique policies for any teams because the managers just don't want to deal with the extra work that comes with it. (Yes the manager told me this) The reality is, all departments have their own different needs. Outdated work at home policy - 15 days work at home policy was literally just something one person suggested in their "big wigs" meeting and they all stuck to it. (The days part) Keep in mind, after 15 days it is mandatory to use PTO. It doesn't matter if your son is sick... there is no flexibility once you have used up your work at home days. There's no manager for IT department, at least in sense of IT competency. The manager is just a principal who does taxes. As a result, you are expected to run and maintain everything and you're basically reporting to him about costs and things that needs to be done (project things.) Other than that, you're left to yourself. The most shocking part I have heard when I was working here was that the previous IT employees didn't really bring up recommendations nor the management look into better solutions for the last 3 years. As a result, the IT department fell apart and it's being all bandaided currently. It requires major rehaul to become a competent part of the firm. Infrastructure is severely lacking and are years behind. No ticketing system... we have brought this up multiple times. There is no structure or processes and barely any documentations. They are cheap. It has gotten better, but it's still there. You will have to fill out time entry, even if you don't do billable hours. They expect you to at least put on there what you were doing.

Pros

Supportive coworkers. Suitable for short-term roles such as a day job or internship.

Cons

Ownership operates like an older men’s club with outdated values and culture. The organizational structure could be improved, and work-life balance does not consistently align with current workplace standards. Leadership struggles to adapt to current times and resists change. There’s little room for younger employees to learn, make mistakes, and grow the business, which ultimately limits long-term progress.
