Pros
Interesting clients who you can have strong connections with.
Cons
Unfortunately my time at Scanlan was overshadowed by managements bullying, gaslighting, poor treatment of staff at all levels of the business. What should have been a role working with beautiful clothing and beautiful clients descended into a daily battle of politics, mismanagement and behaviour that should be investigated by fair work Australia. The company has quickly stripped out any pros that may have come with roles. The incentive structure can be changed on a whim depending on if they are making stores budgets or not. Wardrobe allowances again changed depending on head offices mood and no autonomy with selection, also only one pair of high heels offered as footwear, even when a manager or working full time. Direction is constantly changing, with management gatekeeping processes and then changing them on their whim to suit their agenda. While their legacy continues to net them strong sales, there are far better, most positive and empathetic workplaces to aspire to work for. However, if you need a quick job, their turnover is so high that they are always desperate for staff and would hire you - please know no training is provided though.
