Pros

I've been at Scale from mid 2016 until mid 2019 (3 years). I've seen it grow from 26 to almost 100 employees, and still retain its start-up atmosphere that drew me in when I joined. After initially joining on a contract basis, I joined full time having bought into the vision and the unique workplace they offer. I come from a start-up background in the bay area, having mostly worked in my own companies, and the thought of joining corporate America sends chills down my spine. Luckily, in Scale I found a place where I can be a full time employee without being a 9-5er corporate drone. The work I was doing was challenging and fulfilling, and working with a great group of people makes all the difference between just waiting for the time to leave every day to actually enjoying going to work. They go above and beyond with the benefits they provide and accommodations they make to make sure everyone is taken care of. I had to leave due to moving cross-country for personal reasons, but I think back at my time at Scale very fondly.

Cons

They are located in Sherman Oaks, which is not the most interesting place in the world (I relocated there to be close to the office).

Pros

I love working at Scale Media. The remote setup gives me the freedom to manage my own time and still have a life outside of work — which is rare these days. Leadership genuinely cares about you as a person, not just an employee. I feel trusted, supported, and appreciated here. It’s the kind of place that reminds you good companies do exist.

Cons

Because the team is fully remote, you sometimes miss out on the little in-person moments — but the culture makes it easy to stay connected.

Pros

- I met really talented people that I still connect with today - improved my skill set

Cons

the negative reviews on here are true. not an exaggeration. at all. after the first wave of layoffs, the company was never the same. Dont get me wrong, im aware that a company isnt a "family," but higher ups are ruthless and love a good blame game. I had 5-6+ managers. Why? They couldnt figure out what kind of person they needed and constantly threatened to fire them and/or their team members. I was a victim of a layoff. I don't have ill will towards anyone. I don't feel angry towards them, but they need to figure things out. I waited a long time to write this in an effort to be as impartial as i could be. - no room for growth. want a promotion? nope. they'll hire out for that. - job security? ZERO. they did layoffs like clockwork. seems like its still the case :/ - morale is at an all time low.
