Pros

Pay scale is really good.

Cons

Working for a company where the directors and new CHRO are out of touch with the realities of the workplace are frustrating and demoralizing experience. Unfortunately, this is precisely the situation at Sazerac, where high level management seem to be living in a different world altogether. The CHRO and the HR directors at Sazerac often make decisions that leave employees scratching their heads. It's clear that they have little understanding of the day-to-day challenges faced by their staff. Their disconnect from reality results in unrealistic expectations and goals that are nearly impossible to achieve. Favoritism is a prevalent issue at Sazerac. Certain employees are treated with preferential treatment while others are left to fend for themselves. It's not uncommon to see promotions and opportunities go to those who are in the good graces of the CEO, CHRO, or Directors, rather than to those who have earned them through hard work and dedication. Managers, who are the backbone of any organization, are often subjected to unfair treatment by the directors. They are given little support, overloaded with unrealistic expectations, and criticized for factors beyond their control. This mistreatment creates a toxic atmosphere.

Pros

I really enjoy the brands and the industry as a whole. I take a lot of pride in working hard, solving problems for customers, and closing sales. Sazerac brings a lot to the table too—competitive pricing, a strong product lineup, and every now and then we even get some pretty cool POS to work with.

Cons

Our distributor can’t seem to carry enough of our stuff, so we’re constantly out of stock on anything new or anything people actually want. It’s a mess. Be ready to grind 40 hours a week in accounts, then somehow cram in trainings, reports, posts, pre-planning, organizing POS…basically all the other crap on your “free time.” And don’t forget—you better account for every singe minute of your day. Got a gap between calls because you had to a crap or grab food? Yeah, you might want to log that too, because they’re gonna want to know exactly what you were doing with their time.
