Pros

-Good base pay -Completion bonuses -Choose your schedule -Get to build rapport with your homeroom students (they try to keep the same teacher for homeroom classes) -Great curriculum -Lesson plans done for you -Get to learn about other cultures and share your own -No problems with getting paid. The few times they made a mistake on my pay they fixed it right away! -No germs! Haha -Management listens to teachers' concerns and actively tries to resolve them -4 students to 1 teacher makes classes more fun! (and broadens the student demographic because it's more affordable for them)

Cons

-Difficult to get time off without losing your homeroom class, unless you take time off during a Chinese holiday -Once you lose a homeroom due to teacher absence it takes a long time to get it replaced -You are not guaranteed a full schedule (not a guaranteed steady income), although my schedule has been full for about 6 months now. -Sometimes there is miscommunication due to the language barrier -Depending on where you live, you may have to teach very early in the morning or late at night

Pros

1) most of the students were very interested in learning 2) parents were very involved in supporting their children to be successful in their lessons 3) parents read the feedback I wrote on their child's progress and were open to suggestions I made to enhance their child's learning 4) The curriculum was from National Geographic and was very interesting for the students and myself 5) It was easy for me to do scaffolding from the lessons to enhance what the students were learning 6) I was able to use my creativity to make the classes more fun for the students 7) The students were generally very smart and well mannered 8) The SAYABC management showed appreciation for the extra effort I made to help the students

Cons

1) because of time zone differences and language barriers it was sometimes hard to get timely support for technical issues and and student behavioral issues (as an example I had a student who once came to class without pants or underwear) 2) because of the time zone differences I sometimes got important emails from the Management at times during my regular sleeping hours.
