Losing the good people - Anonymous employee Sasol Employee Review

Managers are unwilling to mentor and help the people that work form them. A lot of energy goes in to developing an annual performance review but nothing happens with the goals and objectives. It is simply a paper exercise. Nobody is promoted from within which goes hand in hand with not utilizing the people you have invested in. I felt Sasol had the potential to be the place I would retire until I figured out the mentality of upper management. If you a yes man, you are a great manager, if you look for opportunities to improve or change the norm, you are a trouble maker.
