Overworked, Underpaid. Toxic culture - Designer/Animator Sarofsky Employee Review

I was brought in with little actual experience as a producer, but I was mentored by leaders who allowed me to not only continuously grow but also define my place within the company. I had more interest in the creative side of the work than the actual producer, and I was always allowed to partake in that side of the work, as well. I only left because my personal life required me to move across the country but I have continued to keep in touch and occasionally collaborate with Sarofsky.

Advertising and entertainment can have some long hours on occasion, but your time is recognized, appreciated, and compensated for whenever possible.

Good relationships tend to form between you and other coworkers, but a lot of times you trauma bond over the toxic work environment.

Toxic work environment. You’ll overwork yourself your this company for YEARS and then they’ll lay you off without any severance or notice the second they’re not making profits. If you advocate for yourself and clock out at 6PM exactly they’ll hold animosity and resentment towards you. Passive aggressive/bully CEO. Expected to work long hours frequently for work that doesn’t matter. CEO and EP beat around the bush when you bring up concerns about work/life balance or compensation. They expect you to be GRATEFUL to work for them… Everyone that quits or has been let go literally throws a party when someone leaves… and years later. That’s how bad it is. Even many freelancers don’t go back for bookings. Stay away. Save your sanity. It’s just a job.
