Pros

Very few at this point. I suppose I'm grateful to still receive a paycheck, although it's not nearly as much as what it should be.

Cons

This place is awful. So much preferential treatment and nepotism go on. The leadership is lacking. Most of the Sr VPs got their positions due to connections with the former CEO (hope Mr Carter is enjoying his "Golden Parachute.") Our current Sr VP is clueless. He/she is too concerned with trying to impress his/her boss(es) to care about those employees that work under him/her. In a time when morale is already at an all-time low, they are taking the things that mean the most to employees (and do not cost the company money, I might add.)

Pros

Great internship program that introduces students to many different sides of power generation, distribution, and finances.

Cons

Do not have any cons.

Pros

The advantages of working at Santee Cooper are diminishing with the arrival of new leadership with zero respect for employees or South Carolina. The previous advantage was the family environment, but that has almost disappeared. There remain pockets of people who care about employee development and success but they are no longer the majority.

Cons

Poor, toxic upper leadership. Employee success, development and retention are not only not a priority they do not care. Leadership doesn’t even seem to care about the future success of the company and only care about their own selves.
