Where do I even start. The shift timings were more of a suggestion I guess. A suggestion that meant show up on time and leave whenever we feel like letting you go. 12 to 14 hours was just a regular Wednesday. No extra pay. No thank you. Just the quiet expectation that you would show up again tomorrow and do it all over again. And god forbid you ask about an appraisal. I made that mistake. Two years in. Two years of stretching deadlines that were never mine to own and fixing problems that were never mine to create. The moment I brought up growth the entire vibe shifted. Suddenly I was the ungrateful one. Suddenly I had an attitude. One conversation and I went from reliable to radioactive. Fastest character arc I have ever witnessed and I was the main character. The language on the floor. I do not even know how to write this professionally because what happened there was not professional at all. People in authority spoke to employees in ways that would genuinely get them slapped outside that building. And it was not a one time thing. It was Tuesday. It was just how things were done and if you flinched you were too sensitive. No structure. No growth plan. No basic human decency on most days. Just vibes. Bad ones.
