Pros
Just look at the office pictures and you can see that this isn't your normal workplace. My first day on the job, almost two years ago now, I immediately noticed a much more vibrant and fun culture than my previous company. I was invited to play ping pong (multiple times), whereas at my previous job you were frowned upon for leaving your desk to eat lunch. But, like any young startup, in the beginning there were some growing pains, which explains some of the negative reviews on this site. We unfortunately had to let go some employees that took the fun culture for granted by doing little to no work. Ultimately, I believe for any ambitious person, Samcart will catapult your career, as it did for mine. Here are a list of my pros: - The CEO is a young visionary. This is his third successful venture, and there is a lot to learn from him. - You have a great opportunity to grow as a developer because Samcart stays up-to-date with the latest technology. - Ping pong table, basketball court, small gym, kitchen filled with stuff that’s good and bad for you. - 401K, Health Insurance 100% covered, PTO - The team is awesome. Good people. - You will get a nickname on day 1.
Cons
- Weeks leading up to a major launch can be a little stressful. - Deadlines can be overly ambitious. - CTO can’t shoot outside the paint. - CEO is a ball hog. - CEO’s brother makes weird hand gestures with no meaning during games. - If the designer sits next to you, he’ll try to eat your desserts.
