Pros

Very low culture and the presence of micromanagement at all levels, the compensation of the lowest level in the market. If there is an alternative, it is better to leave for another company and never return to saipem.

Cons

1. Lack of work-life balance. 2. Very stressful work environment with very poor management. 3. Very low salary and no progress. 4. They promote loyal people over talented people. 5. Worst workplace culture. Lots of politics. Employees are forced to do more than a person should do. 6. Constantly forced overtime without any compensation. 7. HR is completely useless and there is no transparency. People are hired and promoted based on whose friend they are, not talent. My biggest regret is that I stayed there for so long. Don't waste your life on this company.

Pros

Great responsibility for offshore operations and quay-side mobilizations. Less technical role (no direct engineering performed), but more so, practical experience-driven when executing onsite.

Cons

Lots of reading and writing (Purchase Requests>Purchase Orders>Final contracts). Bureaucratic procurement (SAP and Word/Excel heavy) and poor interdepartmental follow-up: you have to do the follow-up when the assigned project inspector and expeditor (POSE) don't follow up on your PO. High workload.
